Elizabeth recently joined forces with Hanlee Louw (Coloratura Soprano), Pauline du Plessis (Light Lyric Soprano), and Rika Vermeulen (musical direction and piano), to form the group DA CAPO.
Da Capo, is an Italian musical term meaning 'from the top' or 'from the beginning', and after working separately and pairing up in various combinations from time to time over the last 10 years, the four of them decided to form a group to showcase the wide repertoire of the lyrical arts ranging from Opera to Musicals and Light Classics to Jazz in an accessible form to the public, with the hope not only to entertain, but also to educate and show that Opera can be fun and very listenable.
Their debut concert is a fundraiser for the Malmesbury Museum, where they will present a collage of songs and genres ranging from Opera to Broadway musical hits and Neapolitan gems to a few good old traditional Afrikaans melodies.
